This fault code appears when it takes longer for a washer to drain than 8 minutes. Also, you may see ‘SUDS’ on the display as well, which indicates a problem in the drain pump, clogged drain line, etc. If the error was caused by a glitch or power surge, you can clear it by simply resetting your washer. Unplug it and wait for about 30 minutes. Plug it back in and run a cycle. If the error appears again, check the drain hose: it may be kinked or clogged. Check the electrical wiring around the drain pump. Also, the drain pump filter may have gotten blocked or clogged.
To remove the filter, do the following:
- Remove the lower front panel. Unscrew and remove 3 Torx screws at the washer’s bottom. Lift the panel and pull the bottom toward yourself.
- Turn the pump filter cover counter-clockwise. Use a tray or bucket, because foul-smelling water may gush out of the filter. If it does, this will be the last water remaining in your machine and causing you trouble.
