Fill hoses or drain hose is improperly connectedMake sure hose connections are tight at washer and faucets and make sure end of drain hose is correctly inserted in and secured to drain facility.
Household drain may be cloggedCheck household plumbing. You may need to call a plumber.
Dispenser cloggedPowder soap may cause clogs inside the dispenser and cause water to leak out the front of the dispenser. Remove drawer and clean both drawer and inside of dispenser box.
Incorrect use of detergentUse only HE and correct amount of detergent.
Dispenser box crackedIf new installation, check for crack on inside of dispenser box.
Clothes too wetLoad is out of balanceRedistribute clothes and run drain & spin or rinse & spin.
Increase load size if washing small load containing heavy and light items.
The machine will slow the spin speed down to 410 rpm if it has a hard time balancing the load. This speed is normal.
OverloadingThe dry weight of the load should be less then 16 lbs.
Drain hose is kinked or improperly connected Straighten drain hose and make sure washer is not sitting on it.
Household drain may be cloggedCheck household plumbing. You may need to call a plumber
Drain hose siphoning; drain hose pushed too far down the drainEnsure there is an air gap between hose and drain.
Incomplete cycle or timer not advancingAutomatic load redistributionTimer adds 3 minutes to cycle for each rebalance. 11 or 15 rebalances may be done. This is normal operation. Do nothing; the machine will finish the wash cycle.

Loud or unusual noise; vibration or shakingCabinet movingWasher is designed to move 1/4” to reduce forces transmitted to the floor. This movement is normal.
All rubber leveling legs are not firmly touching the floorPush and pull on the back right and then back left of your washer to check if it is level. If the washer is uneven, adjust the rubber leveling legs so they are all firmly touching the floor and locked in place. Your installer should correct this problem.
Unbalanced loadPause unit, open door and manually redistribute load. To check machine, run rinse and spin with no load. If normal, unbalance was caused by load
No power/ washer not working or deadWasher is unpluggedMake sure cord is plugged securely into a working outlet.
Water supply is turned offTurn both hot and cold faucets fully on

Inlet hose screen washers are stopped upTurn off the water source and remove the inlet hoses from the wall faucets. Use a brush or toothpick to clean the screen washers in the end of the hoses. Reconnect the hoses and turn the water back on.

Bad odor inside your WasherWasher unused for a long time, not using recommended quality of HE detergent or used too much detergentRun a Basket Clean cycle.
In case of strong odor, you may need to run the Basket Clean cycle more than once.
Use only the amount of detergent recommended on the detergent container.
Use only HE (high efficiency) detergent.
Always remove wet items from the washer promptly after machine stops running.
Leave the door slightly open for the water to air dry. Close supervision is necessary if this appliance is used by or near children. Do not allow children to play on or in this or any other appliance.
Detergent leakIncorrect placement of detergent insertMake sure detergent insert is properly located and fully seated. Never put detergent above max line.

Pump running while washer is not in useClog in sump drainThis is normal. Drain sump is detecting an undesired water fill level from a potential open faucet. Shut off water valve and inspect water valve for blockage.

GE Appliances WASR series washer troubleshooting

GE Appliances WASR series is comprised of top-loading washers. One of the most popular models from this range is the WASR3110. It offers a lot of adjustments in terms of load size (from small and medium to large and Super), wash and spin speed, temperature, and rinsing options.

GE LISR series washer troubleshooting

One of the most popular models from the GE LISR series is the GE LISR310 washer. It is a top-loading washing machine with the maximum load capacity of 7.5 kg. Depending on the characteristics of each load, a user has a chance to choose any of three wash/spin speeds, four load sizes, and four temperatures.

House water heater is not set properly
Make sure house water heater is delivering water at 48°C.-65°C. (120°F.-150°F.).
Water Won't DrainDrain hose is kinked or improperly connected
Straighten drain hose and make sure washer is not sitting on it.
Top of drain oudet should be less than lm (3 ft.) above floor.
Water LeaksFill hoses or drain hose is improperly connectedMake sure hose connections are tight at taps and make sure end of drain hose is correctly inserted in and secured to drain facility.

Shipping rod has not been removedRemove the shipping rod on the bottom right side of the washer just before sliding the washer in place. Do not use the washer with the shipping rod in place.
Water is draining There will be a gurgling, “sucking” sound prior to the spin cycle. This is normal and will stop as soon as the machine goes into the spin cycle.

To restore grayed clothes, try one of the followingPut clothes through a wash cycle using hot water. Add a non-precipitating water softener. Use 2 1/2 times more than is recommended for normal water softening. Do not use detergent or soap. Allow clothes to go through a complete cycle. Repeat if necessary.
Soak your clothes using a water softener instead of a soaking agent. Allow clothes to soak for about 20 minutes.
Yellowed ClothesNot enough detergent on a consistent basisAlways use the recommended amount of detergent.
Chlorine bleach may yellow some fabricsUse non-chlorine bleach.
Iron or manganese in water may cause yellowing or yellow spotsUse extra detergent plus a non-precipitating water softener dissolved in water and non-chlorine bleach.
Run hot water for 2 minutes to help the pipes clean out iron buildup.
